@Sanaa The four core learning skills—Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing (LSRW)—form the foundation of effective communication and academic success. Implementing these skills among students involves strategic, integrated, and engaging approaches. Here’s a practical guide:
-
@Sanam Use stories, podcasts, or news clips followed by Q&A sessions.
-
@Mariya-Rajpar students to share short narratives or opinions and retell what they heard.
-
@Quratulain Encourage students to analyze information, evaluate evidence, and form reasoned judgments. Implement activities that require students to solve problems, make decisions, and think through complex issues.

"Absolutely! Integrating the four core skills – listening, speaking, reading, and writing – is essential for holistic language development. By incorporating activities like pair work, pronunciation drills, and creative dialogues, you're providing students with a well-rounded language learning experience. This approach not only builds confidence but also helps students develop practical language skills that they can apply in real-life situations. Keep up the fantastic work in creating engaging and effective language learning opportunities for your students!" -
I believe enhancing the four core skills works best when students engage in real-life tasks. For example, in a “mini marketplace” project, students can read about how markets work, listen to short interviews, role-play as sellers and buyers (speaking and listening), then write about their experience. These kinds of activities make learning meaningful and memorable.
-
Also ,one great way to develop all four skills is through storytelling projects. Students can listen to a story, read parts of it, retell it in groups (practicing speaking and listening), and finally write their own version or ending. It sparks creativity and builds confidence in all areas.
