How flipping my class turned passive students into problem-solvers?

  • @Ridafatima95
Yes, I agree. Using digital tools makes learning more engaging and saves time for practical activities like labs and debates. I use this method in my teaching, and it’s very effective and helpful for students.

Thank you for raising this valuable topic!

I’ve integrated flipped learning by recording short video lessons and sharing them via Google Classroom or WhatsApp. Tools like YouTube, help deliver content outside class. Initially, some students and parents struggled with the shift, but regular communication and simple instructions helped ease the transition.
In class, I now focus more on discussions and hands-on activities, which has greatly improved student engagement and understanding. The flipped model truly makes learning more active and meaningful!

  • @Ridafatima95
    Absolutely, I agree!

The flipped classroom is a great way to get comfortable with digital tools while making learning more engaging. By shifting instruction outside class, I’ve found more time for labs, discussions, and hands-on activities. Yes, I use this method, and it has been very fruitful—students come to class better prepared and more involved. It truly enhances understanding and encourages active participation.

I had a very positive experience with the flipped classroom model. The parents were very cooperative, even though the children had limited resources like mobile phones and laptops. Still, they managed to access the required links by going to their relatives’ or friends’ houses and using their devices.
The next day, when they came to class and discussed what they had learned, I saw significant improvement in them. When I started teaching the same topic using traditional teaching methods, I noticed that the students who had already studied the content beforehand took notes more responsibly and came prepared to discuss the topic. This repeated exposure increased their understanding.

  • @DEXTE176e4f8265 That sounds like a great approach! Sharing the video beforehand clearly helped students engage more actively in class. It's a smart way to make learning more student-centered and effective

  • Flipped class room is time saving more engaging an interactive session with students.we can enhance creativity through creativity.

  • @Ahlam Flipping my class really changed how my students engaged with learning. Instead of just listening in class, they now come prepared and ready to think. Watching short videos or reviewing notes at home gives them time to absorb the basics at their own pace. Then, in class, we solve problems together, discuss ideas, and work through challenges. This shift made even my quiet, passive students more active they ask questions, help each other, and actually enjoy tackling problems. It gave them ownership and confidence, and turned my classroom into a space for real thinking, not just note-taking.

  • How far is "Creativity" skill important for school children?

  • Re: Flipped Classroom Implementation: Share Your Experiences!
I have applied Flipped Classroom approach to my teaching. I record my lectures and upload videos on my youtube channel youtube.com/gelccmatiari and ask students to watch videos on my youtube channel before coming to class. Moreover I've created whatsapp group of my class where I share videos of my youtube channel. The students watch these videos and come to classroom prepared. In classroom they take part in group work, pair work, discussion and presentation. This approach has enhanced students engagement and interest in learning. I've faced some challanges. These challanges include some students don't have access to internet and digital tools so they can't watch my videos, second challange is second language problem. Videos are in second language that is english so some students face to understand words properly. I comeover these challanges by making my videos shorter and understandable by using simple words so as students can understand. I've encouraged parrent's support and providing offline options.

  • @DEXTE176e4f8265 Nice idea this the best use of flipped classroom. In this method we can save our time by sending things as a homework.. I'll try this idea

  • Feeling like your classroom time could be used more effectively? 🤔 Ever wish you had more one-on-one interaction with your teacher? 👋 Let's dive into the flipped classroom model and see how it can revolutionize learning! ✨
In a nutshell, the flipped classroom reverses the traditional approach. Instead of lectures happening in class and homework done at home, students engage with learning materials (like videos or readings) before class. 🏡 Then, classroom time becomes a dynamic space for discussion, activities, problem-solving, and deeper understanding! 🧑‍🏫 <0xF0><0x9F><0x91><0xAB>
    Think of the benefits:

    • Learn at Your Own Pace: You can pause, rewind, and rewatch learning materials as many times as you need! 🐌➡🐇 No more feeling left behind! 👍
    • More Active Classroom Time: Class transforms from passive listening to active participation! 🎉 You get to apply what you've learned, ask questions, and collaborate with peers. 🤝
    • Personalized Support: With the basic content absorbed beforehand, teachers have more time to provide individualized help and address specific student needs. 🤗
    • Deeper Understanding: By actively engaging with the material in class, you move beyond just memorization to a more profound grasp of the concepts.🧠
      Imagine this:
      _______
      /
      | 🏠 | ➡️ | 🧑‍🏫📚 |
      _/ _/
(Learning at Home) (Active Learning in Class)

The flipped classroom isn't just a trend; it's a powerful way to make learning more engaging and effective! 💪

  • The flipped classroom implementation offers several advantages, including personalized learning, increased student engagement, and better use of class time. By learning foundational content at home, students can work at their own pace, and class time can be utilized for interactive activities, discussions, and hands-on projects, promoting deeper learning and collaboration. This approach also enables teachers to provide more targeted feedback and support, leading to improved student outcomes and a more effective learning environment.

  • Re: Flipped Classroom Implementation: Share Your Experiences!

As I perceive from flipped classroom is to record topic with eyechatching images or had video of that topic voice over and music in it and then explanation done by teacher then send to your students as they can see that video and understand the topic and complete the assigned task as homework or project.
I believe this is nice method during pandemic situation like during COVID-19 , students having online classes and prerecorded as flipped classroom lecture at home .

    Leave a legacy 💜 ♎

  • @Shaguftabisharat
    You're absolutely right!
The flipped classroom method using engaging videos with voiceovers and visuals allows students to learn at their own pace at home. It was especially effective during the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting remote learning and making class time more focused on discussion, problem-solving, and deeper understanding.

  • As far as advantages of flipped class room is concerned, this method is perfect for this age because students can get knowledge at their own from teacher's video and social media. They can remove their problems through different ways .even then they are having questions in their mind they can discuss in class .This is time consuming too.

  • It was really enjoyable and time consuming. All students did participate warmly in collecting notes, participating in discussion and activities.
