    • RE: Use of smart phones in class

@Ridafatima95 as we are living in a digital age, we are required to use various resources to familiarize our students with 21st-century skills — one of which is the mobile phone.
In government schools across Pakistan, we often lack proper multimedia resources. As a result, teachers sometimes use their own mobile phones as a teaching aid. In my own teaching practice, I have found this to be a practical solution. However; I firmly believe that students should not be allowed to bring their personal mobile phones to school.
Instead, we should adopt a controlled approach: teachers can use their own phones during specific learning activities to introduce students to new tools and technologies. This prevents students from getting habitual or distracted by their personal devices. When students bring mobile phones from home, there is a high chance they will use them not just for learning, but also for playing games, sending messages, and accessing unrelated content — ultimately leading to distractions.
Since we currently lack proper digital resources in many government schools, I see no harm in utilizing teachers’ mobile phones during specific activities, provided it is done with clear focus and educational purpose.

    • RE: AI & Ethics

@Adel-8d693e36c4 Aslam o Alikum sir Adel
You've raised an excellent question that indeed requires serious reflection: Is AI diminishing our manpower and creativity? according to my perspective
In Pakistan, while AI tools have become increasingly prevalent in various sectors, including government, and students are adept at utilizing them, there is a significant concern that I’ve observed through personal experience. The reliance on these technologies is gradually eroding students' creative writing skills, critical thinking, and their natural ability to solve problems independently. Instead of engaging in self-learning and personal assessment, many students now use AI tools to quickly find answers, which diminishes their creativity and intellectual growth. Furthermore, there is a noticeable decline in handwriting skills, as students increasingly rely on digital platforms. While AI undoubtedly offers convenience and vast opportunities, it also poses a risk to essential aspects of learning, such as creativity, active engagement, and the development of foundational skills like handwriting. This highlights the urgent need for a balanced approach in integrating technology into education to ensure that it enhances rather than hinders students' overall development.

@Noor-ul-Sabah Aslam o alikum Noor according to my point of view regarding your query is The use of AI in education brings several ethical concerns, which need to be addressed to ensure responsible and equitable use.
Integrate AI literacy into the curriculum, teaching students and educators about the strengths, limitations, and ethical implications of AI.
Example: Workshops or classes that help students understand how AI works and encourage them to critically evaluate AI-driven outcomes.By proactively addressing ethical concerns and implementing thought can benefits all students while minimizing risks.

    • We aim to use AI tools to create an inviting and innovative classroom environment, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable transition for all students into their new classes.

Aslam o alikum and Hi Everyone
As vacations are ending, how can we use AI tools to help our students transition smoothly into their new classes, making their daily experience enjoyable, energetic, and motivating them to attend school? Additionally, how can we leverage these tools to welcome new students joining kindergarten and those entering the sixth grade at a new school, where they might encounter unfamiliar teachers and environments? Our goal is to make the classroom as inviting and innovative as possible, similar to a fresh start.

@BRYANb8875625e5 I want to says few lines about your question
How can schools support the mental health of students and staff in the aftermath of such events?
Schools can support the mental health of students and staff in the aftermath of natural disasters by implementing comprehensive strategies:
Increase access to school counselors, psychologists, and social workers for individual and group therapy.Create support groups specifically for teachers and staff to discuss their challenges and coping strategies.
Conduct workshops on recognizing signs of mental health issues and how to address them.
Encourage physical activities and sports to help reduce stress and promote overall well-being.

@BRYANb8875625e5 Hello Bryan how are u
According to my experience and observation regarding your qurery that
The long-term psychological effects of experiencing a natural disaster on students can include:
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD): Students may experience recurring nightmares, flashbacks, and severe anxiety related to the disaster.
Anxiety and Depression: Increased levels of anxiety and depression can develop, affecting their overall mental health and well-being.
Behavioral Changes: There may be noticeable changes in behavior, such as increased irritability, aggression, withdrawal from social interactions, and difficulty concentrating in school.
this is not only about the present students psychology effect I also faced this traumatic stress at the time of earthquake 2003 when I was school students
Providing appropriate psychological support and creating a supportive environment are crucial in helping students recover from the trauma of a natural disaster.

    • Do IT tools negatively affect students' participation in physical games like sports, and if so, how can we ensure that technology and physical activities are balanced in students' lives?"

IT tools can negatively affect students' participation in physical games by encouraging sedentary behavior, reducing the time spent on outdoor activities, and shifting interest towards digital entertainment. This imbalance can lead to physical health issues, such as obesity, poor posture, and reduced physical fitness, as well as mental health concerns like anxiety and depression.
To ensure a balance between technology and physical activities in students' lives,
By effectively integrating IT tools with physical education, teachers can ensure that students remain physically active, develop healthy habits, and enjoy a balanced approach to technology and physical well-being.
      My question is that
How can a teacher play their role in effectively balancing the use of IT tools and ensuring that students actively participate in physical activities, maintaining their physical health without letting the excessive use of IT tools negatively impact their lives?

    • RE: How Sustainability Competitions in Schools Fuel Environmental Stewardship

      @Ana_moderator Hi Ana
Organizing sustainability competitions at a school is a great way to engage students in environmental issues and promote sustainable practices. Here’s how such a competition could be structured.
To promote awareness and active participation in sustainability practices among students, encouraging them to develop innovative solutions for environmental challenges.
      Recycling Projects:
Encourage students to design and implement projects focused on recycling and waste reduction.
Examples: Creating art from recycled materials, setting up a school-wide recycling program, or developing a composting system.
Engaging the local community in sustainability efforts.
Examples: Organizing clean-up drives, tree planting events, or educational workshops on environmental issues.
By organizing sustainability competitions, you can foster a culture of environmental responsibility and innovation among students, preparing them to be future leaders in sustainability.
In pakistan there are many schools which organized sustainability competitions among schools
