    • RE: Let's think about the awards

@BRYANb8875625e5 It is a great and interesting question.
In the meantime, I still keep in mind the integration of VR and gamification in my subject area. Now, my school does not have the VR tools yet, but our sister school does. I am eager to learn how to construct the gamification "The Murder Mystery" or "The Escape Rooms" with VR integration. I think that is just one of the benefits that I can think about right now.

The echoing session would be great if it were conducted in person and a workshop setting. I plan to conduct the workshop for my colleague. In addition, all of your insights in this forum are interesting to try.

      Regards,

    • RE: Get to know your fellow Forum members and tell us a bit about yourself in this discussion!

      Hi everyone!

      Nice to know you all!

My name is Syakti, a Physics teacher from a private school in Indonesia.
I thrive on intellectual curiosity and welcome the challenge of applying fresh ideas to the world of physics education. Beyond the realm of equations and mechanics, my classroom becomes a dynamic space for exploring the intersections of science, education, and global citizenship. I am deeply invested in integrating concepts like Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), Global Citizenship Education (GCED), and Indigenous Cultural Heritage (ICH) into my teaching, fostering a well-rounded understanding of the world and our place within it.
I am eager to collaborate with like-minded individuals and contribute to shaping the future of education.

@Ana_moderator What a great suggestion, Anna!
I use one of the gamification methods in science class, which I call Group – Worthy Challenges. The example of this activity is The Escape Rooms.

There are two main characteristics, namely (1) Defined roles and (2) Parallel Work. Defined roles means that each member of a group should feel like they have contributed something to the final product. Parallel work means that there should be opportunities for every member to be working on something at the same time.

    • RE: Brining local culture to your classroom

      Hi everyone!
I would like to open a discussion about intangible cultural heritage.

Intangible Cultural Heritage refers to the living traditions and practices passed down through generations. It encompasses things like traditional music, dance, storytelling, crafts, rituals, and knowledge about nature. Unlike physical monuments, ICH is experienced and recreated by communities.

Intangible cultural heritage is often learned through experience and participation, which can be difficult to translate into a traditional classroom setting. How can we effectively integrate ICH into our curriculum while still fostering a deep understanding and appreciation for these living traditions? and still using the technology?

I am looking forward to hearing your insight, experiences, and expertise.
      Thank you.

      Sincerely,
      Syakti

    • RE: Rebuilding Moral Values and Social Skills in the Age of Technology

@Erum-Zahid II agree with you. The main difference between humans and AI (technological sophistication) is human character. even AI may adopt human character itself. So, instilling moral values and social skills to prepare students for the next decade becomes very crucial. Currently, most of us idolize thinking skills and practical skills as the main factors for students' success in the future, but we forget that when AI reaches its maximum development, both of these things are no longer crucial for humans.

    • RE: Teaching for Peace and Global Citizenship in the Digital Age

@Mariya-Rajpar said in Teaching for Peace and Global Citizenship in the Digital Age:

      Let’s discuss:
How are you integrating peace education or global awareness into your digital classroom?
What online tools or activities have helped your students become more globally aware and tolerant?
How can we empower youth to use technology to build bridges, not barriers?
Nowadays, whatever the subject we teach, the integration of GCED is paramount. There will always be many ways to integrate the global issues into our classroom. We just need to read a lot and open our eyes to the surrounding circumstances so we find many contexts as our starting point or entrance door to deliver our topic to the students.
About the tools, we have many digital platforms that we can use. Youtube and Google are more than enough. We just need to design the lesson as engaging as possible. Project-based or problem-based learnings might be the powerful tools for teachers.

@Bakht54a5e4eb47 Your question hit the crucial point. Preparing students for the next decade is not only about equipping them with thinking skills, practical skills, and 21st-century skills, but also nurturing their character.

The first thing that comes to mind is the urgency to shape our students' characters. in the era of artificial intelligence, Cognitive abilities are no longer a rare thing, but rather a character that needs to be formed so that humans can remain humanistic, not become robots like AI.

@MARCE67802a0ba2 Hi, sir Marce! What an inspiring video!
Your video inspires me to apply Desmos to my subject area.

I love the use of contextual topics in your lesson. The technology allows the students to explore more about the uniqueness of each international stadium in the world.

Thank you for sharing your valuable video and experience.
