Instructional Technology EdTech):

Overlap:
In educational iinstitutions IT and EdTech professionals often work together. IT provides the infrastructure (network, hardware security) while EdTech professionals ensure that these technologies are effectively used for educational purposes. For example the IT department mighg mange the servers that host an LMS while EdTech team design the course content delivered through that system.

Whereas EdTech (Educational Technology) is a specialized area within IT, focusing specifically on applying technology to enhance education, such as through e-learning platforms, digital tools, and online resources. While IT serves multiple sectors, EdTech is dedicated solely to improving teaching and learning experiences.
