• Curriculum pressure to meet standards

@TEHNI58909e91f6 Plan lessons that align standards with meaningful learning experiences.

  • @Bushra-Tahir varied learning needs while still targeting the same core standards.

I completely agree that curriculum pressure can be overwhelming for both teachers and students. The emphasis on test scores and achieving goals can lead to a stressful learning environment, where the focus shifts from enjoyable learning experiences to mere academic achievement. The administrative burden of reports and paperwork further exacerbates this issue, leaving teachers with limited time for creative and engaging instruction. This pressure can stifle innovation and authenticity in the classroom, making learning feel like a chore rather than a joyful experience. To create a more balanced and supportive learning environment, it's essential to reevaluate the curriculum's demands and prioritize student well-being, teacher autonomy, and meaningful learning experiences that foster a love for learning.

  • @Ridafatima95 The country's diverse provinces and regions have different educational systems and standards, leading to disparities in learning outcomes.

  • @Mariya Successfully implementing the SNC requires adequate resources, including financial support, infrastructure, and teacher training.

  • @Bushra-Tahir Teachers need to be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement the SNC effectively, including pedagogical reforms and critical thinking skills.

  • @TEHNI58909e91f6 The government and relevant stakeholders need to work together to develop and implement a clear set of national standards.

  • @Bushra-Tahir Efforts should be made to address socioeconomic disparities in access to education, particularly for girls and marginalized groups.

  • @BUSHR43f4bb18a0 Engaging the private sector can complement government efforts in improving education quality and access.

  • Hello. I'm Adelyn, an English teacher from Sabah. Malaysia. I'm currently teaching in SMK Takis Papar. A semi-rural school in Sabah state. I'm quite interested on the topic. As I do believe curriculum do pressure not just students but teachers as well. And I totally agreed that it definitely reducing teaching time as well. The joy of teaching and learning is taken away, and replaced with rote learning. Curriculum Overload: A content-heavy syllabus has pressured most Malaysian teachers to “cover everything,” leaving little time for deeper exploration. Add on to the issue, large class sizes do makes it difficult to implement student-centered or project-based learning consistently.

  • @TANIA2a4b8fae35 Right , Miss Rida we can apply some Strategies for Mitigating Curriculum Pressure like
    Focus on Holistic Development:
Schools should prioritize a well-rounded curriculum that addresses various aspects of student development, including academic, social, and emotional learning.
    Teacher Empowerment:
Schools should empower teachers by providing them with autonomy and support to implement effective teaching practices that align with the needs of their students.
    Collaboration:
Collaboration among teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders can help to address the challenges of curriculum pressure and find solutions that work for everyone.
    Advocacy:
Teachers and other educational stakeholders should advocate for policies that support educators and ensure that schools have the resources they need to provide high-quality education.
