• Student Behavior and Discipline

Now a days students are difficult to handle like their disruptive behavior and low motivation affect classroom management.
Some times it is difficult to maintain students attention due to distractions(smartphones)
Can anyone share their experience of classroom management?

  • @Ridafatima95 "I also find it hard to manage students. They get distracted quickly, especially with phones. I try to keep lessons interesting, but it’s not always easy."

  • @Ridafatima95 Absolutely, managing today’s classrooms is challenging. I’ve found that setting clear rules, using engaging activities, and building strong teacher-student relationships help a lot. Limiting smartphone use during class and incorporating interactive methods like group work or quick quizzes keeps students focused. Consistency, empathy, and positive reinforcement are key to maintaining a respectful and productive environment.

  • Classroom management is definitely more challenging today with increased distractions and lower student motivation. Disruptive behavior and smartphone use can make it hard to keep students focused. Building strong relationships, setting clear expectations, and using engaging teaching methods can help. Would love to hear how others manage these issues in their classrooms.

  • @Ridafatima95 mobile phones create distractions in the class room. Better to get them turned off whien there is teaching learning process.

Yes today’s students are distracted so fast and easily it is our responsibility to make the lessons so interesting so that they could be active in the class room. We need to plan more activities in the class room that every student can participate and learn something positive

  • @Ridafatima95 teachers have to focus on rebuilding relationships rather than punishments..

  • @Ridafatima95 Yes, classroom management has definitely become more challenging, especially with distractions like smartphones and students’ low motivation. I’ve faced similar situations where some students show disruptive behavior or lose focus easily. What has helped me is building a strong connection with my students—when they feel respected and involved, they tend to behave better. I also use interactive teaching methods like group activities, role-plays, and educational games to keep them engaged. Setting clear rules and consequences at the start also helps maintain discipline. Most importantly, I try to understand the root cause behind a student’s behavior—sometimes it’s stress, lack of attention at home, or learning difficulties. When we respond with empathy along with firm boundaries, classroom behavior gradually improves.

  • @Ridafatima95 Establish clear rules and expectations, be consistent in enforcing them, and build positive relationships with students. Engage students in lessons, use proactive strategies to prevent misbehavior, and address issues promptly and fairly. Consistency and fairness are key. Set clear consequences and rewards. Be approachable and respectful.

  • Students should treat peers, teachers, and staff with kindness and courtesy.
No bullying, teasing, or discrimination of any kind should be tolerated.
Listening when others speak and waiting one’s turn are basic expectations.

Yes miss..That’s a real and common challenge specially with today’s students who are so digitally connected. Even with engaging lessons, maintaining focus can be tough when phones and short attention spans are in play.

  • @Ridafatima95 Classroom management is definitely more challenging today with distractions like smartphones and low student motivation. I find that building strong relationships and using engaging, tech-friendly strategies helps keep students focused.
