  • @Mariya-Rajpar Thanks, Mariya, for initiating this crucial conversation! I've found that one of the most effective ways to promote environmental awareness is through celebrating Earth Day. This year, I celebrated Earth Day in my Social Studies classroom with my students. We had an awareness session focusing on Earth Day, followed by a poster-making activity, a colouring activity, and a slogan-raising activity in which my students loudly proclaimed slogans they had created regarding Earth Day themes. These activities helped make the concepts tangible and relatable for students. What do you think, how effective are such activities and celebrating special days in creating environmental awareness among students? What do you think is the impact of such activities on students?

  • @Mariya-Rajpar
I incorporate sustainability themes into lessons through project-based learning, real-world case studies, and hands-on activities like recycling drives, tree planting, and energy audits. Students participate in eco-design challenges, create sustainable products, and develop environmental campaigns. To inspire critical thinking, I encourage debates, discussions, and problem-solving exercises focused on environmental issues. Collaborations with local organizations provide opportunities for field trips, guest lectures, and community service projects, helping students connect theoretical knowledge to practical applications. By integrating sustainability into the curriculum, students develop a deeper understanding of environmental challenges and become empowered to create positive change.
