• Teaching for Peace and Global Citizenship in the Digital Age

@SanaaBeautifully said! I completely agree—digital tools open powerful opportunities to teach empathy and global citizenship. I've found that even simple online collaborations, like joint projects with students from other regions, can deeply impact their worldview. It’s inspiring to see students become more thoughtful, respectful, and globally minded through these experiences.

  • @Mariya-Rajpar Students develop the ability to critically evaluate information online, discern credible sources, and identify misinformation.

  • In my digital classroom, I use videos, virtual tours, and global news stories to help students understand different cultures and world issues. We also do small group discussions where they share their views and listen to others.
Tools like Google Classroom and Padlet help us connect and collaborate. I remind students that technology is a way to learn from others and spread kindness. Even small steps can build a more peaceful and understanding world.

    Let’s discuss:
How are you integrating peace education or global awareness into your digital classroom?
What online tools or activities have helped your students become more globally aware and tolerant?
How can we empower youth to use technology to build bridges, not barriers?
Nowadays, whatever the subject we teach, the integration of GCED is paramount. There will always be many ways to integrate the global issues into our classroom. We just need to read a lot and open our eyes to the surrounding circumstances so we find many contexts as our starting point or entrance door to deliver our topic to the students.
About the tools, we have many digital platforms that we can use. Youtube and Google are more than enough. We just need to design the lesson as engaging as possible. Project-based or problem-based learnings might be the powerful tools for teachers.
