@adelDgreat learning should always trump winning. These events are fantastic for sparking creativity and problem-solving in students, even as young as ten. They get to tackle real-world issues and dream up solutions. However, if we overemphasise winning, we miss the real value. Students need to understand that setbacks aren't failures, but chances to learn and improve. It's about fostering a healthy competitive spirit where the journey of exploration and development is more important than the trophy. The true success lies in the skills gained and the lessons learned along the way.

this idea strikes at the heart of what innovation competitions should be about. These events are not merely arenas for victory, but vital platforms for students to cultivate critical thinking, creativity, and resilience. By shifting the focus from winning to learning, we empower young participants to embrace challenges as stepping stones rather than stumbling blocks. This mindset fosters a deeper engagement with real-world problems and fuels long-term growth. Innovation thrives not in perfection, but in the courage to try, fail, learn, and try againand that’s a lesson worth more than any trophy.

Encouraging Lifelong Innovation Thinking By emphasizing learning over winning, innovation competitions can ignite a passion for creative thinking that lasts well beyond the event. When students see their ideas taken seriously and their problem-solving celebrated, they start to believe in their ability to shape the future and that belief is a powerful motivator for continued learning."Empowering students through engaging education, fostering environmental consciousness, and advancing scientific literacy. @adelDgreat I completely agree with this viewpoint. Academic contests may provide students with an amazing opportunity to interact, think creatively and apply what they have learnt to real-world problems. Nonetheless, it's crucial to maintain the emphasis on learning and development rather than merely winning. It is our responsibility as educators to foster cultures learning is valued just as much as achievement.
