• Why a teacher should not use mobile phone in a class?

    3. Engagement: The presence of a mobile phone can hinder the teacher's ability to engage with students effectively. It can create a barrier to communication and responsiveness, which are crucial for effective teaching.

    4. Modeling Behavior: Teachers set the tone for classroom behavior. By not using a mobile phone, they can model appropriate focus and engagement, encouraging students to do the same.

    5. Interruption: Notifications and calls can interrupt the flow of the lesson, causing disruptions that can detract from the teaching and learning experience.

    6. Professionalism: Maintaining a professional demeanor is important for educators. Using a mobile phone can be perceived as unprofessional, especially during instructional time.

    7. Equity: Some students may not have access to mobile devices, and seeing a teacher frequently using one could create feelings of inequality or exclusion in the classroom environment.

  • I don't think that there is any problem if a teacher uses mobile phone in the classroom as long as it is being used for facilitating students' learning. In my view, technology is the need of today's time and students would stay behind if teachers don't make use of gadgets like telephone, laptop, projectors. Using it for purpose other than students' teaching and learning is of no use and will only make it a distraction and divide teachers' attention.

  • I agree that mobile phones distract students' attention, interrupt lesson consistency, etc., but they are indispensable. What we should do is to limit not eliminate them. Mobile phones are of great importance if used well and wisely. We can teach our students how and when to use the mobile inside our classrooms.

    Using mobile phones in the classroom can be beneficial if done responsibly. I used cell phone for many reasons because it is a good teaching aid, and it is the only low cost resource.

    • It provides access to Information.
    • Mobile phones provide quick access to educational resources, research, and information.
    • Teachers can make and organize notes efficiently.
    • Various apps and tools can enhance teaching, such as interactive quizzes, presentations.
    • Allows the use of videos, images, and audio to make lessons more engaging and diverse.

    By thoughtfully integrating mobile phones into the classroom, you can leverage their benefits while minimizing potential drawbacks.
    So there should be a clear policy set by the Highups or by the teacher that cell phon could be used as teaching aid during class.

Even though, mobile phones in the classroom distract the students, it's also concerned with the teacher and how he/she allows or guides students to use that (powerful, innovative, resourceful, and on-demand device) called mobile for some big purpose.

    There are pros and cons to everything in the world, and it depends on how we use/consume it. Suppose I as a teacher, assign my students to prepare a 2-minute presentation by choosing any five topics from your eighth-grade science book's first chapter, and xyz will be the main topics that will marked as your sessional grades. Here, I divide three student per group and each one will receive equal marks on their collective as well as individual efforts. Now comes an extra instruction for all of the students: "Everyone of you will use your mobile phone and internet connection, and all of you are authorized to use any app or internet resources to make or prepare your presentation content unique and engaging.

    This way, students will start interacting with each other and will also fill the gap if someone does not have a mobile phone. Now, they may have learned how to work in groups and carry out meaningful discussions, technical skills, exposure to vast, unlimitedly available resources, and many more.

    These activities of using phones in a controlled environment where everyone works with peers provide a better learning experience for both students and teachers.

    There are many things, which may be opposite to my stance and opinion but I would also add that excessive availability and allowance of digital tools in 6th–8th grade levels must be operated in focused way.
