• Critical Thinking and Teaching

Teachers who incorporate critical thinking into their pedagogy often shift from being information providers to facilitators of learning. They employ methods such as Socratic questioning, problem-based learning, and debates to stimulate intellectual engagement. Assessment also changes: rather than testing only factual recall, educators assess the reasoning processes and depth of understanding.
However, integrating critical thinking into teaching is not without challenges. It demands time, resources, and training. Some educational systems, focused heavily on standardized testing, may inadvertently discourage critical thinking by emphasizing correct answers over thoughtful reasoning.
