RE: Preparing Students for the next Decade.
My thinking is a little different: we are focusing on digital skills a lot lately, but I think kids should also be prepared to learn life skills. They must know how they can grow their own food, how they can farm, fish, cook their own food, and light a fire. It's not like I am asking for preparing them for surviving in the wild
, but these are the basic needs that can also be taught to kids for the next decades.

RE: Creating your own educational videos
@LISELLI I’ve found that locally made videos, even if simple, build stronger connection and engagement. They’re more relatable and make abstract concepts easier to understand. Keep doing it. it may take time, but the impact on student learning and confidence is real.

RE: Approaches in Gamification Across Subjects
I’ve been integrating gamification through tools like Kahoot, team challenges, and escape-room tasks. It’s helped boost engagement and collaboration. My biggest challenge has been time, creating meaningful activities takes planning. But the reward is worth it—students are more involved and often ask for more gamified learning!

RE: Peer Evaluation Thread - active June 18 - June 30
@LISELLI your approach is truly inspiring! I love how you’ve beautifully blended cultural identity with education, using Carnival, calypso, and traditional dance creates such an engaging and affirming learning environment. The way you connect students with their roots while teaching complex topics is a real strength. Your use of animation made the science content more accessible, and the added song was so charming it really lifted the mood and made the lesson memorable.
Overall, your project is a wonderful example of how culture, creativity can come together. It’s both joyful and effective , thank you for sharing such a dynamic and thoughtful experience!
The podcast are usually boring to listen but your video is so engaging and full of fun I am sure your students also enjoy your class.
