    • RE: Wearable Technology in Learning: A New Way to Engage Students

In rural schools, wearable tech can be used creatively to monitor health, support hands-on science experiments, or bring immersive experiences to classrooms with limited resources. While access and affordability remain challenges, even simple wearable tools can open new pathways for interactive, student-centered education.

    • RE: Music and its impact in education

Personally I believe music is a powerful tool enhancing student's life and indirectly to education. Beyond its artistic value, music enhances memory, improves focus, and fosters creativity across all subjects. In rural schools, where resources may be limited, music can also serve as a powerful bridge to cultural identity and community engagement. Whether through traditional songs, school performances, or integrating music into subjects like language and history, it helps students express themselves and connect learning to their lives.

    • Global Citizenship Education (GCED) in Rural Schools

Global Citizenship Education (GCED) in rural schools offers a powerful way to help students understand their connection to the wider world, even from remote communities. By linking global issues—such as climate change, inequality, or cultural preservation—to local realities, teachers can make learning more meaningful and action-oriented. For example, lessons on deforestation can relate directly to nearby logging activities, while discussions on food security can be tied to local farming challenges. When students see how global challenges affect their own communities, they begin to see themselves as capable contributors to global solutions.
Thinking question: How can we as teachers of the 21st century help rural students see that their local actions can make a difference on a global scale?

    • Global collaboration via ZEP Metaverse

ZEP metaverse can be used as a global collaboration platform by providing a virtual environment where students can interact, share ideas, and collaborate as if they were in the same room. Through ZEP metaverse, students can share recorded classroom lessons and activities, virtual gaming and conferences. My school did it with one of high school in South Korea which attracted not just students who were participants of the project but others too! They love it as they can interact with everyone without worries, as no personal information shared during the process. SS ZEP Metaverse.png

    • Incorporating Podcast tech tools creating innovative learning environment

When incorporating podcast tech tools, its primary objective was to maximize student engagement in speaking, serving as a foundational step toward the development of a classroom podcasting project. The project integrated creative podcast production using platforms like Celtx, Podcastle, and Miro. These tools enriched the production process, making it more structured, interactive, and engaging for students.

    • RE: Cartoons can absolutely serve as a learning platform

Absolutely, learning through Disney characters and classic cartoons like Cinderella and Snow White can be an effective and engaging way to teach children life lessons and values. When come to consequences of choices, Disney stories often show that good behavior is rewarded while selfishness, jealousy, and cruelty have consequences. As for teaching English Language, I do use cartoons in my classroom activities such as debate, like to choose between Cinderella and Snow White.

    • RE: The Role of Digital Tools in Education and The Importance of Data Safety

Hello! I'm Adelyn, an English teacher from Sabah, Malaysia. Currently i'm teaching at SMK Takis Papar, Sabah. It's a semi-rural high school in the state of Sabah. I'm quite interested on the topic. As I'm teaching form 6 students, they are attached in using ChatGPT when come to learning English language or anything related to the language. So I believe these students must be taught ethical use of ChatGPT in schools. As they are relying too much on it to do all the thinking or assignments for students without their involvement. They also need to be reminded not input sensitive personal information into ChatGPT too. So it's crucial for us as teachers to teach digital citizenship and data privacy awareness when using AI tools.

    • RE: Curriculum pressure to meet standards

Hello. I'm Adelyn, an English teacher from Sabah. Malaysia. I'm currently teaching in SMK Takis Papar. A semi-rural school in Sabah state. I'm quite interested on the topic. As I do believe curriculum do pressure not just students but teachers as well. And I totally agreed that it definitely reducing teaching time as well. The joy of teaching and learning is taken away, and replaced with rote learning. Curriculum Overload: A content-heavy syllabus has pressured most Malaysian teachers to “cover everything,” leaving little time for deeper exploration. Add on to the issue, large class sizes do makes it difficult to implement student-centered or project-based learning consistently.
