To assess my students' understanding and check what they learned from the lesson, I ask them to give a short answer to one question as an EXIT TICKET. They write their answers on a piece of paper. For example; I can ask; what is one thing you learned from today's lesson? , What do you think the best or the worst thing about the lesson is? Students' answers can reveal what they grasped or if any concepts were misunderstood.

@MehranKhan Giving attention to students'well being urges me to start my lessons with one or more activities that elevate students' SEL. One activity is Gratitude Jar in which students put a name of a person they think they should be thankful and grateful throughout the week.It can be an excellent starter or an Ice Breaker for your lessons.
