What activity do you use in your class when starting the new academic year?

  • Hi ADEL
At the start of a new academic year, many teachers use icebreaker activities to help students get to know each other and create a comfortable classroom environment. One popular activity is the "Two Truths and a Lie" game, where each student shares two true statements and one false statement about themselves, and the rest of the class guesses which one is the lie. This encourages interaction and helps build a sense of community. Other activities might include group discussions about goals for the year, team-building exercises, or creative introductions where students share something unique about themselves.

  • Hi Adel
At the start of a new academic year, many teachers use icebreaker activities to help students get to know each other and create a positive classroom environment. Some popular activities include:

Two Truths and a Lie: Each student shares two true statements and one false statement about themselves. The class then guesses which statement is the lie.

Human Bingo: Create bingo cards with different characteristics or experiences (e.g., "has traveled to another country," "plays a musical instrument"). Students mingle to find classmates who match the descriptions.

Classroom Scavenger Hunt: Organize a scavenger hunt where students find items or answer questions related to the classroom or school.

All About Me Posters: Students create posters that include their interests, hobbies, and goals for the year. They can present these to the class.

Group Discussions: Facilitate small group discussions where students share their expectations for the year and what they hope to learn.

These activities not only help break the ice but also foster a sense of community within the classroom.

  • I will start with some simple activities that rely on searching the web, the most important of which are
Writing some articles using artificial intelligence applications and publishing them on social media platforms

  • @Adel-8d693e36c4 Aslamo Alaikum Sir,

To create a welcoming and engaging environment where students reconnect by sharing their holiday experiences, fostering communication, and building community in the classroom.
After a long two-month break, when students return to school, the first activity involves everyone coming together to share their holiday experiences. Each student is encouraged to talk about what they did during the vacation, whether it was visiting family, exploring new places, or simply enjoying time at home. This sharing session allows students to express themselves, listen to others, and learn about different experiences within their peer group.
I invite each student, one by one, to stand up and briefly talk about their holiday. Encourage them to mention their favorite memory or something special they did and I make sure every student gets a chance to speak, regardless of the length or excitement of their story.

    Hi @Adel-8d693e36c4
    Hope everything is going well.

I always start with worksheets with visuals to know what they do in summer break. Visuals are important for my students, some of them are nonverbal. Also, I give them a routine worksheet to promote their participation every morning since they are back to school. Routines are very important to calm their anxiety.
