    • Academic Integrity vs. AI: strategy, policy, practice.

Artificial Intelligence has introduced innovations not only in teaching but also in learning, which educators all around the world have already witnessed. Unfortunately, a number of students consider AI as a tool complete the part of a job to be done by the students themselves and widely employ it to write essays, papers, and reports.

How do your schools deal with AI in terms of academic integrity? Have you made any rules and regulations or chenged you school policy? What instruments and tools to you use to detect AI-generated content? How do you persuade students to avoid misuse of AI?

Dear colleagues, thank you for sharing!

I would like to add that in our school we also encourage our students to start greening initiatives, as part of their community service or as part of their subject units. For example, in my English language lessons the students had a summative assessment task of promoting a green campaign within the school through social media. They came up with the ideas of effective use of resources, saving paper, saving water etc which also boosted the students' motivation and led to a deeper unquiry and understanding.

In every step we need to be mindful of 4P: Product made by Professionals that is Progressive and available to Public.

Dear Bilim, I will definitely use this 4P quote, thank you that is such a concise idea! We are lucky to teach in this challenging, rapidly changing transitive period which demands adapting ourselves and being ready to keep up with new requirements of time. Unfortunately our national educational standards which are declared to be progressive prove to be not flexible enough. For example, in language teaching and assessment (especially in language exams) there is a strong accent on language knowledge (grammar and vocabulary) while language skills assesment in all their variety as described on CEFR leaves much to be desired. The assesment criteria descriptors only consider a limited range of skills.

    • RE: Ideas for you_Gamifying classrooms to enhance learners engagement

Well, I use plenty of game resources since I do love games and my students are always enthusiastic about them. I mostly apply gamification tools to practice grammar and vocabulary. Here is my list (which is not exhaustive):
      wordwall.net
      baamboozle.com
      learningapps.com
      wheeldecide.com
      online-stopwatch.com
      superteacherworksheets.com/generator-word-scramble.html
      https://www.visualthesaurus.com/bee/play
      https://bingobaker.com/
      https://www.edu-games.org/word-games/crosswords/communicative-crossword.php
      https://quizizz.com/
https://quizlet.com/ (Game mode - Classic live)
      Tic tac boom app
      different random generators, e.g. https://www.rangen.co.uk/chars/jobgen.php

These are the ones I use regularly there are also others I come across from time to time and also build them into my teaching routine.

I've also tried https://www.classcraft.com/ru/ but not as successfully as I'd like to, feel that I have to explore it better.

    • RE: Let's think about the awards

As we regularly do in our school, I will hold a workshop with my colleagues to share the teaching insights I will gain. I'll try to plan it so that my co-teachers take part as students to experience new strategies as learners and drawing conclusions independently in the end. This kind of practice proves to be more effecive allowing to explore more💡

As for specific goals and objectives, I'm mostly concerned with boosting my students' motivation recently, so this is something I globally set for myself😊

@Antonia Kahoot is really invaluable resource! We also practised giving the students the task of creating their own quizzes in Kahoot, and this always was a hit, especially when the quizzes were to be done later by the classmates. Game + choice + autonomy boosts students' motivation.

@Ana_moderator I absolutely agree, Anastaciia, that buddy system works well. In our school it may look as far from the system but still in our special group chat we regularly share the resource and tools with the colleagues. We also share our findings at our regular collaborative meetings and the colleagues willingly try them and start applying those they find suitable.

I would also add that keeping your mind open to new technologies depends on nuruturing encouraging and supportive spirit within the teaching team. That is, if teachers do not compete with their colleagues but seek for collaboration they are always ready to leatn something new from each other.

      Hello, Marija!

I haven't been teaching teaching pre-school learners for quite a while so I don't feel competent enough in the issue balanced use of digital didactic games. Still, personally, I used them as fillers at the lessson between the activities or as coolers in the end of the lesson (in which case I chose only quiet reading activities).
https://www.starfall.com/h/index-kindergarten.php?mg= - this resource was always a hit among the kids I taught.

      @MYLOG47799627c6 Hello, Loges!
Thank you for sharing! Really good idea, it's easy to use for kids!
While I was doing my CPE English course last year, as a student I had an access to the Google spreadsheet with all the links to the materials of every week + recording of the online-lesson in case I missed it, so that really helped to catch up with the course.
My question is, how did you keep track of waht the students did (back then during COVID lockdown ?

    • RE: Aging vs technology:

@Denis-Kudaymetov Absolutely! We have recently faced the problem when some of the students submit essays/reports or other documents inappropriately in terms of margins, fonts, organising paragraphs, titles and pages. They are unable to perform simple operations to edit the document according to the requirements. So we decided to focus on these next year.
On the other hand, digital children and teenagers often offer creative ideas for summative and formative assessment tasks to combine educational content and technologies, which makes the tasks more relatable to them.
