Hello everyone,

Have you ever offered technology classes to seniors? If so, what were some of the key challenges and successes you encountered?

For me teaching technology classes to seniors has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Initially, many of these students were apprehensive about using computers and smartphones, often expressing concerns about their ability to keep up with the rapid pace of technological change.

To address this, I focused on creating a supportive and patient learning environment, breaking down each lesson into simple, manageable steps. Almost like I do with my students with autism (I use task analysis method). The sense of community that developed among the senior class members, who often helped and encouraged each other, was truly heartwarming. This experience reinforced my belief in the importance of lifelong learning and the transformative power of technology when it is made accessible to all.

Wow, dear colleagues, this is a quite fascinating idea.

Digital age, digital divide keeps increasing the generation gap every minute, not decade. And as we know, wider the gap, the more distance from reality. That's why this trend is worth developing!
We are all familiar with CAS (creativity, activity, service) is one of the essential elements that every student must complete as part of the DP.

We strongly believe that a future that has a place for ALL is one with minimal 'man-made' barriers as age, gender, stereotypes...

We need more genuine connections with those, who are on the reverse side of the age continium. Modern opportunities games, gadgets, internships, online participation/presentations are for all, not only for young. Like Strong Seniors in Sport, who run marathons, ski and bike, aging senoirs should have no artificial boundaries.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I couldn't agree more with your insights on the digital age and its impact on the generation gap. Bridging this gap is essential to ensure no one is left behind as technology advances.

I did not know about CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) framework, and I'm in love already. Seems to be a great way to foster meaningful intergenerational connections, helping students appreciate diverse perspectives and experiences (something that we need daily).
