• Ideas for you_Using ChatGPT and other generative AI tools to enhance learning

    Kia ora,
AI is already a part of my teaching practice; I can use their lesson plan idea.
After generating and getting some ideas, I will adjust mine and integrate both.
All these make it easier to get more inspiration!
And I taught students to use it, which excited them.
Once, we wanted to make a poster for activities, but the students were nervous about drawing and designing. I taught them some easy tools, and we printed the poster.
    It was a great success.
But be careful of using some photos which could contain students' faces and personal information.

  • Leveraging generative AI tools like ChatGPT can revolutionize learning experiences in various ways. Students can benefit from AI-powered tutoring systems that offer personalized assistance, interactive learning modules that reinforce understanding through quizzes and explanations, and writing assistance tools that provide real-time feedback on grammar and style. Additionally, language learning can become more immersive with AI-generated conversations and dialogue scenarios, while virtual laboratories simulate scientific experiments and aid in comprehension. Creativity is fostered through collaborative storytelling with AI-generated prompts and feedback, and research is facilitated with AI assistance in summarizing texts and refining search queries. Adaptive learning paths ensure personalized education based on individual needs, while discussions around the ethical implications of AI technologies promote critical thinking. By integrating generative AI tools into education, the potential for enhanced learning experiences is vast and continually evolving.4303b66e62ed597cc5991dafc9f7d98e.jpg file.jpg nws-chart-0920ai.png

  • @Ana_moderator Hi IAM delighted to let you know that when I have gone through your activities you have mentioned for language teachers to use AI technology in classrooms . I have used chatGPT for language subject and the result was fantastic . My kids were so happy while using it and made different paragraphs and poems using chat GPT and Chatbot .

  • @Ekaterina

I completely agree with you Ekaterina, about the ongoing debate surrounding Artificial Intelligence in education, especially when it comes to generating teaching materials and maintaining academic integrity. It's great to read that you are finding tools like twee.com helpful in creating texts and tasks for your classes. I had the chance to see the page and I will use it to make my lesson plans.

Saving time for us is a significant benefit, and it's wise to double check the materials for consistency. Your recommendation of twee is appreciated, and I'll definitely consider exploring it for my own teaching needs. It's always valuable to hear about practical tools from fellow educators.

    Sharing is caring definitely.

    Best,
    Mr. Bryan

  • @Mariam great to hear !

I really recommend you to try the AI Platform for Education MagicSchool

I have talked more about it in this post

    Hi,
Hope everything is going well for you.

I completely agree with you @Bousl2336873cb4 generative AI tools like ChatGPT or ChatGPT4 indeed have transformative potential in mainstream education and SPED. For us as educators, AI can streamline time-consuming tasks such as creating content and summarizing textbooks, allowing us to focus more on direct student engagement, which is a big challenge here in Puerto Rico.

Students benefit from adaptive tutoring that responds to their progress, language learning support, and immersive simulations that bring complex concepts to life. AI-generated resources, including study guides and practice tests, make exam preparation more efficient and targeted.

Moreover, the integration of collaborative problem-solving and interactive storytelling can make learning experiences more engaging and profound, as we discuss in some categories in this forum. Embracing generative AI in education holds the promise of making learning more personalized, interactive, and effective for all, students and teachers, and why not parents.

    Best,
    Mr. Bryan

    Hello Everyone,
    Hope everything is going well.

Here you have an idea to promote inclusion through an innovative project during a lesson. I found "Hand Talk App" which assist in learning and understanding sign language through AI. We could design a lesson to promote a campaign of inclusion based in sign language for deaf students.

Here is the Link to review the app: https://youtu.be/s2fKMfbE2NQ?si=7aGFCtHleNg1oBaZ

  • This app presents an excellent opportunity for special education teachers to promote inclusion and enhance communication skills for all students. Here's how you could use the "Hand Talk App" in your lesson:

    Introduction to sign language:
Use the app to introduce basic signs to the entire class. This can help raise awareness about deaf communication and foster empathy.
    Vocabulary building:
Incorporate sign language into vocabulary lessons, teaching students to sign new words as they learn them.
    Inclusive group activities:
Design activities where students work in mixed groups, using both spoken and sign language to complete tasks.
    Story time:
Read a story aloud while simultaneously signing key words or phrases using the app as a guide.
    Communication challenge:
Create a fun challenge where students try to communicate using only sign language for a set period.
    Cultural awareness:
Use the app to discuss deaf culture and the importance of inclusive communication.
    Peer tutoring:
Encourage students who quickly grasp sign language to help their classmates, promoting peer support.
    Technology integration:
Demonstrate how AI can assist in breaking down communication barriers, highlighting the positive impact of technology on inclusion.
    Campaign creation:
Have students design posters or short videos promoting inclusion, incorporating signs they've learned through the app.
    Parent involvement:
Share information about the app with parents to encourage practice at home and extend the learning beyond the classroom.

This approach not only promotes inclusion for deaf students but also enriches the learning experience for all students by introducing a new form of communication and fostering a more inclusive classroom environment.

  • @Antonia thank you for sharing! The list seems very detailed. For what purposes do you usually use the Hand Talk App with your students?

Is AI already a part of your teaching practice or do you still feel unsure when using AI?
What is needed, in your opinion, for wider usage of AI tools in classroom management, teaching and assessment?
What AI tools would you recommend to try?

Artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly frequent guest in my lessons. Children, especially seventh graders, are already very interested in this topic. The most memorable lesson was on the topic of a green future.

We used the KandinskyBot AI, which is capable of generating text from an image. I invited the children to draw pictures on the theme "Green Future" - how they see cities, nature, and people's lives in 50 years.

Then, with the help of KandinskyBot, we turned these drawings into text! The kids were thrilled as their drawings "came to life" and told stories about green transportation, smart homes, clean energy, and human harmony with nature.

However, during the lesson we also discussed the risks of climate change. The children learned about the effects of global warming, pollution and species extinction.

Artificial intelligence in this lesson was not only a tool for creativity, but also an occasion for a serious conversation about the future of our planet. It is important for children to realize that their actions determine what that future will be like.

The Google Classroom itself integrated the AI in several ways that have helped the teaching and learning process since the pandemic in my school. Especially the automated grading system. The multiple- choice questions, quizzes almost help us in creating worksheets and also save our time. The students are also encouraged in self learning methods. Moreover the google drive also enhances the efficiency for teachers and students. Now we are implementing lesson plans in google drive. It is almost helps us in sharing the lesson plans and ideas.
