A lesson plan is not something you just write on a page and put in your portfolio. A lesson plan means an easy way, in simple language, that you understand and can easily explain to students. I taught a topic on the eyes where I drew a diagram and explained the names and functions of all the parts to the students. Then I erased the names from the board and wrote 1, 2, 3 instead. I asked each student their favorite number and according to their choice, I asked them to name the part and explain its function. This made it clear for all the students.
Objectives:
Students will learn the parts and functions
Materials:
White/greenboard chalk
Main Activity:
I draw a diagram of the eye on the greenboard.
Label the parts of the eye
Explain the function of each part as you label them.
Interactive Exercise:
Erase the labels and number the parts 1, 2, 3, etc.
Ask students to pick their favorite number.
Have each student come up and label the part and explain its function according to the number they chose.
Assessment:
Observe student participation during the interactive exercise
