sStudents will need a blend of digital, social, and emotional skills to thrive. Critical thinking, adaptability, and media literacy will be essential in a world shaped by AI and fast-changing technology. Just as important will be empathy, collaboration, and intercultural communication – skills that foster active citizenship and social responsibility. I also believe students must develop a sustainable mindset, learning to value nature, well-being, and long-term thinking over quick wins. The ability to learn, unlearn, and relearn will become more important than memorizing content.

RE: Brain breaks in the classroom
Hello everyone!
I work in a vocational high school where I teach literature.
Unfortunately, I often use break methods mainly to re-engage my students during class — especially when they lose focus or start getting bored. They enjoy active and fun activities, like shouting out answers in a "Mazinga ice breaker", tossing a ball while asking topic-related questions, or doing simple stretching exercises.
For me, it's really important that they laugh a little — because laughter is an instant refresh for both body and mind.

RE: Introduction
Hello everyone!
I am Lidia from Croatia, working as a literature and Croatian language teacher in a secondary school of economics.
I have been teaching for 26 years and am always looking for new challenges. I got the email with info about Teaching in the 21st Century 3.0, and I am very excited about it!My favourite part of the job is actually working on international projects, particularly if they are related to literature, cultural heritage, and communication. I have been an Erasmus coordinator for 10 years, and I love how it has upgraded my life — by allowing me to meet so many enthusiastic teachers from all around Europe, and also fantastic teenagers whom we all have the privilege to teach.

RE: Let's create collaborative projects together!
Hello everyone!
I plan to submit a project that is coming to its end with this school year, it engaged teachers and students from 5 schools from Italy, Portugal, Spain and Croatia using eTwinning platform. Project is related to inclusion, mental health and literature, the idea of the unity between all the people, and the importance of each person n this world.
But if someone fancy the idea, we could do a re-run next school year, I am sure my students would love it! -

RE: Simple Teaching Tools That Make a Big Impact
My students adore Kahoot :). I usually use it in reflection time.

RE: Importance of resource person before and during teaching
Educational systems that emphasize collaboration, practical learning, and community involvement are more likely to integrate resource persons into their teaching models. For example, many Scandinavian countries, such as Finland and Sweden (I am so proud, gratefu and honored that I visited both :)), actively involve experts, professionals, and community members as resource persons. These systems recognize that involving external specialists helps bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, preparing students better for the challenges of the 21st century. For my country this is still SF - maybe available in private schools.

RE: What are your current (or future) challenges in teaching?
I teach literature and students don't want to read.
Even when they read in the classroom, they have huge issues with concentration.

RE: Empowering Girls Through Education
The school where I work is predominantly female, with over 90% girls. They are growing up in a world where many rights are available to them. However, it is unusual that a significant number of these students tend to take these rights and privileges for granted or choose not to fully utilize them. Because of this, I strongly believe that civic education is extremely important. It helps students understand their rights and responsibilities, appreciate the opportunities they have, and encourages them to become active, informed members of society.
