These days, AI is being discussed everywhere, and people have varying opinions about its impact. While AI has made many tasks easier and helps us save time, I believe that in the education system, AI can be both beneficial and detrimental for students.
In the past, when we would give math homework to children, they would attempt to solve it multiple times, learning correct and incorrect methods along the way. However, now with AI, children can easily solve math problems, but they may not understand the underlying process. This can significantly impact their critical thinking skills.
If our children have ample time to learn, then why are we compromising their cognitive abilities by relying on AI to save time? Shouldn't we focus on developing their problem-solving skills instead of solely relying on technology?
