    • Bringing the SEL Wheel to Life

      Hey everyone,
Socio-emotional learning (SEL) consistently comes to mind as a foundational element for student success. Many of you are likely familiar with the "Wheel of SEL" (often associated with CASEL's framework), which typically outlines five core competencies: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision-Making.
This framework offers such a powerful lens through which to view our practice.
Instead of viewing SEL as a separate subject, how can we more intentionally weave these competencies into our existing curriculum, no matter the subject?

      1. Think about your primary subject area(s). How could you design a lesson or activity that explicitly requires students to practice, for example, "Responsible Decision-Making" in a math problem, or "Social Awareness" in a history discussion?
      2. What are some of the subtle, yet powerful, ways you foster "Self-Awareness" or "Self-Management" even when teaching academic content?
Let's challenge ourselves to think beyond standalone SEL lessons and explore how the SEL wheel can enrich every facet of our teaching.
Eager to read your innovative ideas,

      Faizah

@Bousl2336873cb4 sharing my insights what I have learned from the project "The Geometry of Life". Its a free, offline educational app developed to help students understand Pythagoras’ and Thales’ theorems by connecting geometry with real-life biological examples. Through interactive exercises, engaging videos, and practical problem-solving, the app demonstrates how math principles appear in nature from DNA spirals to plant structures making learning more visual, intuitive, and interdisciplinary. It’s designed to support both students and teachers, especially in areas with limited internet access. With plans for future improvements like augmented reality and expanded subject coverage, the app represents a modern, hands-on approach to STEM education that inspires curiosity by linking abstract math to the living world.
      Best wishes

Nawres's "Battle of the Emperors" project is a masterclass in innovative education. An effective approach to teach ancient history through gamification, Nawres has crafted an experience that's both entertaining and enlightening. Students are no longer passive learners; they're active participants, immersed in a world of discovery and exploration.
