I used to teach a matric class where the backbenchers were very mischievous. They didn't study and caused a lot of trouble, disrupting the class. Gradually, I started praising them and giving them tasks related to the classwork. I also moved them to the front desks. This brought about significant improvement in their behavior. They stopped disturbing the class and quietly sat in the front, attentively listening to the lectures. How do you handle backbenchers? Do you punish them?
