    Raj Kumar

    @Raj Kumar

I am an English language teacher with a decade of experience.
I have been a master trainer for many trainings like induction training and Digital census.
I have attended different trainings conducted by British Council like core skills etc.
I have been to United States of America (USA) by availing a 6 weeks fellwoship i.e Teaching Excellence & Achievement (TEA). That was my first international exposure to learn about the teaching tips and exploring America.
I love to use multimedia and ICT tools during my classroom to engage students.
Kahoot and wordwall are my favourite tools.

    • Techy teacher

I personally believe that 21st century teacher should be a techy teacher. He or she should be good or best at gadgets and sites.
Google classroom is also a brilliant platform to engage students.
MS Teams, zoom, steam yard also nice platforms.
All these sites can be accessed during cross-cutting situation.
When COVID erupted, we used MS Teams as an online tool to engage students.

I have been using Kahoot as a gamification tool for my students.
The printed mug was given to the Kahoot winners as a reward.
Wordwall, role playing activity, press conference, gallery walk, round Robin, Fish bowl, think-pair-share and so many learning activities I have been working and implementing during my class.

      Hi
As you have mentioned that most of your students belong to low socio-economic background.
Same is the situation is with me, we live in an agricultural area where most of the students belong to marginalized regions.
As far as tablets and other gadgets are concerned, I have been using my own laptop with projector to facilitate the students with the support of my school.

Reflective practice is a personal matter which varies from person to person. However, there is no single way of defining reflective practice for personal and professional development. It is a process that helps teachers to reflect on their experiences for further improvement. It enables teachers to recognize their successes, gaps, and challenges. It is also a personal inquiry which nurtures greater self-awareness, imagination and creativity in teachers which are qualities of effective teachers.

    • Teacher vs Student Centered Pedagogies

The main difference between teacher-centred and learner-centred pedagogies is that within the teacher-centred pedagogies students depend on teachers whereas student-centred pedagogies focus on students along with teachers. Through teacher-centred pedagogies, teachers talk excessively, and students continue to listen but student-centred pedagogies allow teachers and students to interact in the classroom and collaborate with each other.

First of all, I really appreciate your efforts and congratulate for your project.
The world has been witnessing climate issues and students need to be aware about global warming.
Paper recycling and forest saving is such a nice and creative idea.

A teaching portfolio is a record of the teachers’ professional development. It illustrates teachers’ philosophy of teaching and the overall approach to teaching and professional development. It is a collection of materials that documents teaching performance.

A portfolio contains lesson plans, delivery of lesson plans, reflections on
teaching learning activities, assessment, and feedback.
