As teachers we hold a pen but sometimes that pen carries more than marks and corrections it carries hope encouragement and magic
In my classroom I started writing little remarks on students notebooks not just about their work but about them when a student did something with extra effort or showed improvement I’d write something like:
“You’re my little shining star ”

The moment I wrote this in one student’s notebook others noticed it and soon everyone wanted that star it became a source of motivation students started trying harder more effort not just because of marks but because they wanted to be seen and appreciated.
That one small sentence became a goal for many little hearts.
